The ability to accurately control the
temperature of microvolume samples has given rise to various
spectroscopic applications. The most common application is that of
Thermal Melt (Tm) for which Beckman Coulter has a dedicated Tm
accessory and software. Often a somewhat more flexible system is
required for different types of temperature studies such as:
- Studies of Thermophilic Proteins and Enzymes
- Enzyme Engineering
- Fermentation Studies
The High-Temperature Micro Kinetics system is similar to the Tm
Analysis system and can be used to accurately control the
temperature of six microcells, each containing only 325 µL of
sample. The microcells are open-top cells for easy sample handling.
The cell holder cover seals the cells to avoid sample evaporation.
The High Temperature Micro Kinetics system can be used with all the
software available on the DU® 600/7000 Spectrophotometers
including Kinetics Time/Drive, Enzyme Mechanism, Enzyme Activity,
and Tm Analysis.
