A method for automated purification of PCR products was developed on the Biomek FX to purify two 96 thermowell PCR plates. The instrument used for this application was a hybrid (96 multichannel/Span8) Biomek FX such that quantitation and normalization of samples can be accomplished via the Span8 pod after purification. However, any Biomek FX system that has a left 96-multichannel pod can be used with the purification method.

- Universal deck layout to accommodate all Biomek FX system configurations with a multichannel pod as the left bridge (see application details).
- Utilizes the 4x3, Magnetic Bead, and Orbital Shaker ALP for optimum performance.
- Purifies two 96-well plates in about 1 hour.
