Plasmid Minipreps in Microtiter Plates Using Beckman Tabletop Centrifuges

Anasuya S. Patel
Beckman Coulter, Inc.

Genetic studies at the molecular level require multiple liquid manipulations. For such studies, numerous DNA minipreps are often preformed in parallel. Beckman has designed the following rotors to accommodate multi-well plates to process such high-throughput DNA minipreps.

Features

  • Two 96-well deep-well or four microtiter plates can be spun at 3000 rpm (1100 x g) in the GS-15 centrifuge (Allegra™ 21) using the S2096 rotor.
  • For 96-well deep-well or eight microtiter plates can be spun at 3250 rpm (2080 x g) in the GS-6 centrifuge (Allegra 6) using the PTS 2000 rotor and microplate canisters.
