Large Volume 2.5 and 5 mL Syringes for Biomek NXP Span-8 Pipettor

|
Large volume 2.5 and 5 mL syringes address large volume sample processing needs, such as nucleic acid purification protocols. The syringes are intended for use with Biomek Software version 3.2. Within this software version the syringes are native to the pod settings in the Hardware Setup. When selecting the desired syringe size(s), default syringe speeds are set to prevent overload of the syringe pump or splashing of system fluid on the deck.
The 2.5 and 5 mL syringes have been tested and verified for use on the Biomek NXP/NX Span-8 platform, but not validated to any specific application. Please contact your local Beckman Coulter representative regarding specific application, sample matrix, and syringe size.
Use the following software guidelines to determine the compatibility of 2.5 and 5 mL Syringes on your Biomek NXP Span-8 Platform.
- Software v3.2. Fully compatible as a standard platform feature. Pod and d-axis speeds are independent of each other in the software world. Syringe selection is native to this version of software.
- Software v3.1. Please contact your local Beckman Coulter representative for configuration. Pod and d-axis speeds are not independent of one another in the software world. The pod speed may be adjusted in Hardware Set-up by choosing Additional Pod Setting and changing the Speed Limit to -30%; however, this slows the entire system.

Biomek Seal & Sample Aluminum Foil Lids* provide a unique solution for multiwell plate sealing. Made of special aluminum foil, cut from rolls of 3M tape #439 for a thickness of 0.0031 in., with a bioinert adhesive backing, Seal & Sample plate lids are provided in packages of 100 sheets pre-sized for titer-plate sealing including multiwell, Deep-Well and Square-Well Titer Plates. Plates remain sealed at a temperature range of -80°C to +130°C but are not compatible with DMSO.
These foil lids are designed to be easily punctured by automated or manually operated pipette tips to remove sample material from plate wells. This feature eliminates the potential for aerosols and cross-contamination that can result when removing other types of plate-sealing lids. A rubber roller is also available for easy lid placement and to ensure complete plate sealing.
